You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers.

I’M A BEGINNER.
WHAT CLASS SHOULD
I START WITH?

We love beginners! We’re so glad you’re interested in giving yoga a try. First, our classes are open to ALL levels. You’re always welcome and encouraged to go at your own pace and take breaks whenever you’d like. Regardless of the class you choose, please inform your teacher that you’re new to yoga and they’ll ensure you’re comfortable and safe. For most beginners, we recommend starting with a Slow Burn, Ashtanga, or Yin Restorative class.

Slow Burn is a fully led mix of slower vinyasa flow and longer holding poses. The slower pace offers ample opportunity to absorb the flows and postures. The room is heated only to about 85 degrees.

Ashtanga is a challenging but accessible practice. It is the same series of sun salutations and holding postures every time. This consistency allows you to observe the fluctuations and progress you’ll make in your practice. There is no music in Ashtanga and the class is fully led.

Yin Restorative is a fully led sequence of 5-8 longer holding postures to gently stretch and release the muscles and fascia. There is no flowing or quick movements in a Yin class and the long holds allow for a deeply meditative experience. Yin is also a great compliment to some of our more dynamic classes.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

Check out the class schedule on mindbody and choose a time and location to attend class. Pre-registration is strongly suggested. To pre-register you can purchase the class package you’d like, and register through your Mindbody account for IN STUDIO classes, you will be able to select a time and location to attend.

All our classes are held in rooms heated to at or above 85 degrees so we recommend drinking plenty of water throughout the day prior to class and bringing a water bottle to class with you. We also recommend avoiding heavy meals within a few hours of class.

Wear comfortable clothes that you can move easily and sweat in. Please practice barefoot and avoid using personal care products with strong fragrances prior to class. You may want to secure your hair back out of your face. You will likely get sweaty so a small towel can be helpful.

Please double check the schedule to ensure you are heading to the right studio location (we have two!). Plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to class to check-in with the teacher. Introduce yourself and let them know it’s your first class. Inform the teacher if you have any injuries or health conditions that might be relevant.

Mat and towel rental is available for a small additional fee if you do not have your own.

That’s it! Leave your phone, shoes, and to-do list behind when you enter the studio. Keep an open mind, a playful attitude, and have fun!

I BOUGHT A CLASS PACKAGE BEFORE COVID AND NOW I’M READY TO COME BACK TO THE STUDIO. CAN I EXTEND MY EXPIRATION DATE?

Unfortunately, we are no longer extending class packages because our studios have been open since March 2021, and before that, we had Outdoor/Tent Yoga classes throughout the summer and fall of 2020.

However, you might be eligible for our NEW STUDENT Month Unlimited for $79 if it's been over 6 months since your last visit. If you want to take advantage of this returning student offer, send us a message HERE.

IS THERE PARKING?

Pauline Studio
There is a small, private parking lot at the end of the driveway behind the studio. Please do not park in the driveway. If the lot is full there is street parking available on on Virnakay Drive and Kay Parkway, each only a minute walk from the studio. All parking is FREE.

Campus / Street Studio
Street and garage parking is available throughout downtown. The Maynard garage is the closest to the studio. Street parking is free after 6pm and on Sundays. Limited free parking is available on residential streets but requires a longer walk to the studio. Please allow for extra time as parking and traffic in downtown can be unpredictable.

HOW HOT IS IT, REALLY?

All regularly scheduled classes are 85 degrees or hotter. Hot Vinyasa and Blend are the hottest classes, often reaching 95+ degrees. The Campus and Pauline Studios are equipped with Infrared Heat which has been shown to increase cellular detoxification, relax muscles, ease joint stiffness and pain, and improve circulation. Please drink plenty of water before and after class, bring or rent a towel, and inform your teacher if you are sensitive to heat or humidity.

I’D LIKE TO SCHEDULE A PRIVATE SESSION OR EVENT. DO YOU OFFER THIS? TEACH ME YOUR WAYS.
